This weekend Director of Rugby Tony Wilkinson takes over the custodian of the first team ship while Head Coach Tim Robinson rests up after an emergency eye operation here’s what Tony had to say…

This weekend will be one of a handful of times that Tim Robinson hasn’t been on the touchline in 15 years as a coach and for 5 -10 years before that as a player, his absence will be felt by the team, to compound matters the bag of players has had to be shaken about with a few regulars missing through injury or unavailability – Nick Syddall who was instrumental in the scrum v Ilkley, Max Humphrey, Al Fagan, Jack Leaning reduce our front row options so Jack Rowbotham steps up to start from the bench and Max Bradwell comes in on debut. That being said we are still in fine fettle and are looking forward to getting back out on the field after a great win v Ilkley.

Paviors have also followed us from the midlands to the north up to the league and have ominous home form, they are well coached and a team who have played together for some time, the NLD bragging rights are on the line here. We need to play to our potential, keep people on the park for the full 80, and then there is no reason why this group of talented lads can’t come back with 5 points…

Our 2’s have a rest week. 3’s go to Grimsby and the Women play their first home league game on Sunday v Sandal, our colts (U18) also are away with a friendly v Sheffield.

Special mention to our U13 and 14 who start their NLD cup journeys v Market Rasen and Grimsby respectively

Get well soon Robbo…

Go well to all our teams fighting for the big W this weekend, enjoy the rugby…
