After numerous rainy days the game was in doubt, a pitch inspection on Friday night was carried out and it was decided a further inspection would be carried out on Saturday morning in the hope that the forecast rain would be absorbed and the game would go ahead as Tynedale had a long journey to Heslam Park from Northumberland .
The club house side was still soggy but with no rain forecast until afternoon it was determined the pitch was ultimately playable.
